Our range consists of four types of pleaters:

 16-Row Original Pleater

Our 16 Row Pleater

Due to popular demand, we have again made available the original 16-row Read Smocking Pleater with 16 needles and 10 half space rows. 

This pleater is popular for small projects such as for doll’s clothing, etc.

Our 24-Row, 24-Row MAXI and 32-Row pleaters have the following specifications:

  24-Row Regular Pleater

24 row pleater

24 needles spaced 1 cm apart with half cm spaces across half of the roller width. This model is suitable for most normal pleating applications.

 24-Row MAXI Pleater

24 row maxi pleater

Half cm spacing across the entire width of the roller (47 needles). Half spaces can be used as guidelines when smocking and to improve holding on difficult fabrics which tend to bubble. The MAXI can also be used as a Regular pleater (24 needles) by removing the half space needles (every second needle).

  32-Row Pleater

32 row pleater

32 needles spaced 1 cm apart with half spaces across half of the roller width. This is the only pleater of this size available worldwide.
